The Everest Region lays some 120 kms North East of Kathmandu. It is considered as one of the best regions in the world for hiking, trekking and climbing enthusiasts. This region is protected as the ‘Sagarmatha National Park’ which is solicited as a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site. The park is quiet and consists of hardy terrain with deep gorges, glaciers and gigantic rocks. The major attraction of Everest region trek is the “Mount Everest (8848m)”-highest peak in the world. It is also home for two eight thousanders Cho –Oyu and Lhotse besides other famous peaks above 6,000m (Thamserku, Nuptse, Amadablam, and Pumori). Everest trekking offers you great opportunity to have unique experiences. Throughout this trip trekkers are overwhelmed with the scenery of unbelievable peaks, Buddhist monasteries, and friendly Sherpa villages. This region is also known as Khumbu and its trading center is Namche Bazaar, a famous destination among tourists. Khumbu possesses of an airstrip in Lukla and two ancient Buddhist monasteries in Tengboche and Pangboche.
Trekking in the Everest area is a splendid experience, not only for its proximity to the world’s highest mountain but also for its friendly Sherpa people, pretty villages, great variety of cultures & traditions, colorful festivals and monasteries. The flora and fauna are other ornaments of the Sagarmatha National Park.
While we ascend KalaPatthar (5643m), we can observe stunning views of Mt. Everest and the surrounding peaks invaluably beautiful.
It ia not convinient to trek the Everest region throughout the year. The best seasons for the Everest region trek are October-November, March-May and December-February.
Our representative will meet you at the airport and guide you to the hotel. If time permits, we will have a brief meeting about the trekking in our office. O/N at hotel.
Before heading to the trekking route, you must have trekking permits and TIMS. While we arrange these things, you can enjoy a day of Kathmandu city tour with our tour guide. There are a lot of sights to see like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, the durbar squares of all the cities, Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur all enlisted in the World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. In the evening, we can purchase necessary things for trekking. O/N at hotel.
Our guide will pick you up from hotel and drive you to the airport. You will catch early morning flight to Lukla. It takes about 45 minutes to reach Lukla. After taking breakfast in Lukla, trek to Phakding (2610m). It takes about 4 hours to reach Phakding. O/N at lodge.
After taking breakfast, it takes about 7 hours trek from Phakding to reach Namche Bazar, the famous town of Solukhumbu. The last 3 hours of this trek will be tougher but the gorgeous sceneries around the route enthrall you so that you will forget your tiredness. O/N at lodge.
To adjust your body with the high altitude, we will spend the day for acclimatization. During daytime, you can explore the beautiful Khumjung village or take one hour walk up to the Everest View Hotel for the sunset view of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest. O/N at lodge.
After a 6-7 hour trek, you will reach Tengboche. From here, one can get a spectacular panorama of Ama Dablam and Thamserku rising in the horizon. Tengboche is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu region. O/N at lodge.
Dingboche lies at about a walking distance of 6-7 hours. Due to the increasing altitude, your pace will be slower as compared to the previous days. O/N at lodge.
This will be the second acclimatization day. If you wish you can make a day trip to Chhukung Valley and back to Dingboche. From Chhukung valley, you can see the stunning views of the various mountains. O/N at guest house.
After 5-6 hours treks you will reach Lobuche. From here one can see the spectacular view of Mt. Pumori (7145m), Changtse (7550m) at the head of the valley whilst Everest remains hidden behind the towering walls of Nuptse and Lhotse. O/N at guest house.
Lobuche to Gorak Shep is a short trek and can be completed within 3-4 hours. After taking rest for a few hours at Gorak Shep, we will trek towards Everest Base Camp in the evening to view the beautiful sunset over the majestic Mt. Everest. Then we will return back to Gorak Shep. O/N at guest house.
Your journey will start early in the morning. About 2 hours hiking you will reach Kala Patthar. This place is well known as a perfect viewpoint to see all major parts of the Himalayan range, including Mt. Everest itself. If the weather permits, you will get an opportunity to see a fascinating sunrise that you will not find elsewhere in the world. From Kala Patthar return back to Gorak Shep for lunch. Shortly afterwards, you will descend back to Pheriche for overnight stay.
Trek for about 6 hours to reach Tengboche. O/N at lodge.
After trekking about 5 hours you will reach at Namche Bazar. O/N stay at lodge.
Trek down to Phakding. After 5 hours trek, you will reach Phakding. O/N at lodge.
Return back to Lukla, have lunch and go for a short walk in the Sherpa village.
Fly back to Kathmandu where we will transfer you to your hotel.
On this day, you will engage in shopping and enjoy with Nepali food at Thamel, a tourism hub of Nepal. You can buy souvenir for your nearest and dearest ones waiting for your arrival at the same place. O/N at hotel.
After breakfast, the trip ends. Our representative will transfer you to the airport for your next destination. Even if you wish to stay longer in Nepal and depart on a later date, we would always love another opportunity to serve you.
